My Story…
I was born in London, England in 1958, and In 1979 made a move to New York. There, I worked as a makeup artist and hairstylist for 30 years. I often prepared guests for appearances on some of the most popular TV shows, such as, Good Morning America, The View, The Today Show, and many more! It has been a pleasure to work with such celebrities as Henry Winkler, Tracey Morgan, First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, Anderson Cooper, actresses Tess Thompson, Jenna Coleman and many more!
I am married to Joe Henson — fortunately for me, he’s one of New York City’s best photographers. Most of my photos are taken by him. We have three grown children — Jenn, James, and Abbie. We are also thrilled to have become first time grandparents in the summer of 2020 with the arrival of baby Cassia!
More recently Joe and I have settled in Montclair, New Jersey. So that’s why when you watch my videos you may notice that I have a peculiar hybrid accent! I’ve been doing makeup and hair for most of my adult life. I have also done some modeling here and there. Being around the beauty world has been a joy to me. I have forever been fascinated by the transformative effects of makeup and hairstyling.
A Natural Approach to Beauty
I have a holistic approach to beauty. Makeup and hairstyling techniques are nothing without a great skin care regimen, good diet, regular exercise, sleep, and personal fulfillment too. In fact, I feel that personal fulfillment is one of the most important elements of what it means to be beautiful. When a person has a sense of fulfillment, joy, and happiness in life, it emanates from their face.
I am so happy to share all I have learned throughout my career and hope that it can help enrich the lives of other women. I also want to showcase strong positive women who are an experts in their field. You never know who might drop by Silver Style Studio!
